The Trenton Fire Department is again conducting its Christmas toy drive.
New and used toys are being collected by the fire department as part of the “Fill the 44” event, which is in recognition of the department’s LaFrance fire truck no longer in service. Toys collected will then be distributed to children in Trenton and Grundy County. Last year the department presented toys to 115 children in 72 families.
This year’s toy distribution will take place on Monday, Dec. 22 and Tuesday, Dec. 23. Persons interested in making a donation can take their items to the Emergency Services Complex at 1001 E. 17th St. in Trenton.
