The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service has announced plans to prepare a supplemental environmental impact statement for the East Locust Creek Watershed Revised Plan.
This plan proposes a federal action to construct a 2,235-acre, multiple-purpose reservoir on East Locust Creek, located approximately five miles north of Milan in Sullivan County.
The SEIS will update the 2006 plan and environmental impact statement and expand the alternatives analysis beyond those previously considered. The SEIS will evaluate reasonable and practicable alternatives and their expected environmental impacts.
This notice by State Conservationist J.R. Flores signals the beginning of the process of developing a supplemental environmental impact statement. NRCS welcomes public involvement in the process. The announcement is scheduled to be published in the Federal Register on De. 8. A copy of the announcement including contact information for public participation is available online at www.mo.nrcs.usda.gov
