Terry Waddell, a registered nurse II in Emergency Services at Wright Memorial Hospital, center, was honored as the hospital’s Employee of the Quarter for fourth quarter 2014. Barbara Ball, chief nursing officer, at right, presented the award to Waddell at a ceremony held in his honor. The Employee of the Quarter Award honors an employee who provides exemplary service, going beyond the call of duty to support fellow employees or to comfort or assist patients and their families. In his nomination form, Waddell’s co-workers said, “This employee works hard to provide excellent patient care and he is compassionate to patients. He is highly respected by his peers and is an excellent mentor to employees. He represents the hospital well as he strives for excellence in problem solving and patient care.” Waddell is involved in the clinical advancement program and has completed the National Emergency Nurse Certification. He also is currently attending school to complete his bachelor’s degree in nursing. At the hospital, he serves on the patient experience team and Emergency Department committee. In recognition of the award, Waddell received an Employee of the Quarter certificate, the parking space of his choice for three months, his name posted on the Employee of the Quarter wall plaque, and other prizes and recognition.
