Michael L. Hayden, a 31-year-old resident of Gilman City, died on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 19, 2014 as a result of a truck accident at Crowder State Park at Trenton.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 24, 2014 at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton, with Rev. Steve Bramblett officiating. The body will be cremated after the service.
Family visitation will be held at Slater Funeral Home from 6 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014.
Mr. Hayden was born on March 29, 1983 in Germany, the son of Larry and Marilyn Nutting Hayden. He graduated in 2001 from Jupiter High School in Jupiter, FL. He was active in the ROTC in high school and after graduation decided to serve his country by enlisting in the U.S. Army. He did five tours of duty in Iraq and one in Afghanistan and received an honorable discharge.
Before moving to Gilman City he was a resident of St. Joseph and was also employed by Trenton Transit Mix of Trenton.
He was married at St. Joseph on May 30, 2014 to Kelly Russell.
His survivors include his wife, Kelly of the home; his mother, Marilyn Hayden of Jupiter; two sons, Brennon Hayden and Jase Hayden, both of Temple, TX; two step-daughters, Olivia Kline of El Paso, TX and Patience Luna of Temple; five step-sons Austin Kline, Walter Kline, Chase Kline, Wyatt Kline and Cole Kline, all of El Paso; one sister, Sharon Varrett of Waupaca, WI; two brothers, Lynn Hayden of Jupiter and Dwight Nutting and his wife, Rachel of Toledo, OH; an aunt, Linda Graham of Shirley, ME; and may nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Hayden.
Memorials are suggested to the Michael Hayden Memorial Fund and may be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
