Funeral services for Willa Irene Persell will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014 at Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home of Trenton. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.
Visitation is scheduled from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday.
Mrs. Persell, an 88-year-old resident of Trenton, died on Monday, Nov. 17 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.
Mrs. Persell was born on Nov. 13, 1926 in Trenton, the daughter of Gladys and Roy Ferris. She was married in 1954 to Ronald Persell in Trenton. She was a person of high moral character. She delivered meals on wheels until she became too old at the age of 82. She was past president of the local ladies VFW Auxiliary. The NE Democratic committee was pleased to have her and her husband for many years. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
She was a member of the Trenton Church of the Nazarene.
Her survivors include her husband, Ronald Persell of Trenton; two sons, Gerald Moore of Grain Valley and Donald Moore of Kansas City; a daughter, Ann Minard of Riverside, CA; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great- grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Garland Moore; a sister, Genevive Munn; and two brothers, Joseph and Chester Ferris.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Salvation Army and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
