Lady Bulldog Teams Honored At Banquet

Fans and family of Trenton’s four girls fall sports teams gathered in the Trenton High School commons on Tuesday night to pay tribute to the accomplishments of the 2014 season.
Softball
Trenton’s softball team continued its recent run of success in 2014, going 18-6 on the year. Trenton placed second in the district tournament and was second at the North Central Missouri College Nan Carter Tournament as well.
The Lady Bulldogs handed out three awards on the night, voted on by the players themselves. McKinley Hurley was named the team MVP and the Gold Glove winner and Ally Ockenfels and Mallory Hooyman shared the Silver Slugger Award. Trenton had six players named to the all-district team in Daryian Otto, Hurley, Hooyman, Lexie Tolson, Megan Lynch and Hannah Kennebeck. Hurley and Otto were also named to the all-region and all-state teams.
Other Lady Bulldogs out this season included Mason Hooyman, Jayden Roeder, Shayla Woodside, Tenna Roberts, Maggie McNabb, Bailey Bankson, Jessi Westcott, Abby Miller, Lauren Dolan, Whitley Richman, Jakolbie Stotts, Ashten Whitaker, Jaylen Neff, Alyssa Kosse, Katerina Black and Layla Palmer.
Golf
The Lady Bulldogs’ golf team enjoyed a season of continued improvement, leading to a pair of sectional qualifiers in Caitlin McNabb and Karley McCollum. The two had strong seasons, capturing medals at various duals and tournaments along the way.
Lauren Schmidt, Lana Raymo, Kaitlyn Mounce and Jordain Oshel were also on the team this season.
Volleyball
The Trenton volleyball team ran a record of 5-17-3 in 2014. Statistical leaders were recognized at the banquet. Lakisha Hughes and Alex Ewald were both all-district selections. Ewald led Trenton with 360 digs and 185 assists, while Hughes topped the team with 56 aces, 143 kills and 10 blocks.
Other Lady Bulldogs out for the team were Nikki Hagan, Morganne Farmer, Ella Leininger, Macey Malmstron, Anna Shackelford, Grace Holcomb, Madison Searcy, Taya Johnson, Angela Trask, Nalleli Perez, Kayla Geyer, Tomi Delp, Lyric Nolan, Hadley Windsor, Brittany Wilson, Sarah Walker, Brandy Wilson, Vanessa Olivo, Shelby Laird and Rebekah Shackelford.
Tennis
The Lady Bulldogs’ tennis team finished 2-7 in duals in 2014. The team had some tournament success with Alvynne Villacampa and Hannah Sowder combining to place fourth in the doubles bracket at districts. Villacampa combined with Claire Utley to take third at the Chillicothe Quad in doubles and Sowder and Hannah Robinson were fourth in the doubles portion of the Chillicothe Quad. Ashley Allen and Hannah Farmer were the second-place number three doubles team at the Benton Tourney.
Other Lady Bulldogs out for tennis were Alainey Shipley-Fair, Codi Delong, Samantha Mihalovich, Abbie Shuler, Cassidy Trump and Madison Untiedt.
