Trenton High School has chosen its Students of the Quarter for the first quarter.
The honor is given to students who meet certain criteria in the areas of citizenship, leadership, participation and academics. The recipients are chosen by members of the THS faculty and a student may only receive this honor once during his or her high school career.
The first quarter honorees include freshman Grace Holcomb, sophomore Aidan Clark, junior Jessica Westcott and senior Carley Muff.
Grace is the daughter of Tammie and Dan Wiebers and Brian and Mary Holcomb. She is a member of the volleyball team, participates in the concert choir and is enrolled in the A-Plus program. Outside of school, she attends the First Baptist Church, where she is a member of the youth group. She has gone on a mission trip to Poplar Bluff.
Aidan is the son of Nancy Clark and Chris Clark. He participates in marching band and is a member of the drumline. He is also in concert band, Science Club and FBLA and competes on the Scholar Bowl team. He has also been named to the honor roll. Outside of school, he attends the First Baptist Church, where he is a member of the youth group.
Jessica is the daughter of Danny Westcott. She is a member of the softball and track teams and is also a cheerleader. She serves as the wrestling manager and participates in FBLA. Outside of school, she attends the South Evans Christian Church and works as a lifeguard at the Trenton Family Aquatic Center. She also teaches private gymnastics lessons.
Carley is the daughter of Stephen and Shelly Muff. She is a member of the National Honor Society, FCCLA, Key Club, Goldrush and the concert and marching band, where she plays in the drumline. She is also a football and basketball cheerleader. She serves as president of the pep band, senior class treasurer and is on the yearbook staff. She is a four-year member of the Northwest District Choir and served on the prom committee during her junior year. She currently is a cadet teacher.
