A Princeton couple received injuries in an accident on Saturday night on Highway 65, six miles north of Trenton.
Mark Thompson, 53, and his wife, Julie, 50, were taken to Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton for treatment of their injuries. Thompson received minor injuries while Mrs. Thompson’s injuries were reported to be moderate.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Thompson was driving his truck northbound on Highway 65 when he observed a slow moving, poorly lit farm tractor, which was also northbound. As he attempted to avoid the tractor, he served the truck into the southbound lane, losing control of the vehicle. He then overcorrected, causing the vehicle to go off the west side of the roadway and overturn, coming to rest on its top.
The vehicle was demolished. There was no information on the patrol report regarding the tractor.
The accident was investigated by Cpl. J.A. Pithan, assisted by Trooper J.C. Gilliland.
