Roy Lee Carmack, an 82-year-old Trenton resident died early Sunday morning, Oct. 12, 2014 at Saint Luke’s Hospital on the Plaza in Kansas City.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014 at the Galt Christian Church in Galt. Burial will be in the Humphreys Cemetery.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Open visitation will begin after 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014 at the Payne Funeral Home in Galt.
Mr. Carmack was born on Dec. 21, 1931 in Cora, the son of Cecil Noah and Amber Estelle Shatto Carmack. He graduated from Humphreys High School. He served in the U.S. Army, where he was a drill sergeant for two years at Ft. Leonard Wood. He was a lifelong Humphreys and Galt resident, recently moving to Trenton. He was a man of many talents. He was owner/operator of Carmack’s Service Station and Wrecker Service, worked for Sayer Dozing and a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed camping, cutting wood, and spending time with family, friends and neighbors.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Doretta of the home; two daughters, Lynda Berry and her husband, Allen of Trenton and Leetta Fordyce and her husband, Donnie of Galt; three grandchildren, Angie Leeper and her husband, Corey, Derick Berry and his wife, Emmy, and Katrina Gamet and her husband, Nathan; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Humphreys Cemetery. They can be left at or mailed to Payne Funeral Home, PO Box 37, Galt, MO 64641.
