Elmer Ellis “Fudd” Minor Jr. a 67-year-old resident of Vandalia, died on Monday, Sept. 29, 2014 at the University of Missouri Medical Center in Columbia.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Minor was born on Nov. 15, 1946 in Louisiana, MO, the son of Elmer Ellis Minor Sr. and Cecil Chandler Minor.
He was married in Trenton on March 6, 1971 to Connie Dowell, who survives of the home.
He attended the Clopton High School at Clarksville. He was a veteran, serving with the United States Marines during the Vietnam War. He had been employed as a deputy with the Tillman County Sheriff’s Department in Frederick, OK. He had also operated Fudd’s Barbecue Service in Frederick.
He was a 32nd Degree Mason and was a member of Masonic Lodge 249 in Frederick.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters; Michelle Vasquez and Eric of Independence and Debra Reyes of the home; one son, Robert Minor and Tamara of Altus, OK; nine grandchildren, Amber Garza and Kelby, Christopher Vasquez, Michael Minor and Kaycee, Tierra-Dawn Vasquez and Kati, Shane Minor and Sarah, Jacob Minor, Justin Minor, Connie Reyes and Kylie Minor; four great-grandchildren, Elexia and Leah, Daphine and Matthew; one brother, James Henry and Don of Louisville, KY; two sisters, Sarah Morgan and Al of Eolia and Janet Coslet and Wayne of Sweet Springs; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles; and one special uncle, Sammy Chandler and wife, Cora Lee of Curryville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Mary Darnell, Mary Bernice and Garnet Lambert.
