Grundy County RSVP volunteer Dottie Reim was recently recognized for her dedication to the Disabled American Veterans.
Mrs. Reim has given a total of 1,103 hours of her time to help the injured and ill veterans by driving them to and from their much needed appointments.
“There’s nothing quite as satisfying as being able to serve the ones who served and sacrificed for all of us,” wrote John Kleindienst, DAV national director of volunteer services. “Our nation’s heroes deserve nothing but the very best, and it is with your help that we are able to give them just that – the very best.”
“Start helping others in a field that interests you,” Mrs. Reim said, noting that as a side benefit to volunteering, she has made new friendships.
