The Trenton Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol participated today in a combined Safe to Schools Child Safety Restraint Enforcement program around the Rissler Elementary School.
Police Chief Tommy Wright said the goal of the program was to enforce child safety seat and seat belt usage laws as well as provide an increased law enforcement presence to deter speeding and other traffic violations. The results of the combined effort were:
Total stops, 7; child restraint citations, 9; adult no seat belt citations, 8; no insurance citations, 2; driving while revoked citations, 1; and warrant arrests, 1.
Chief Wright called the program a success and said he looks forward to increasing the opportunities of forming more law enforcement partnerships with the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
