The Grundy R-5 High School Lady Panthers softball team will play for the consolation title of the HDC Conference Tournament after a 17-0 win over Tri-County on Saturday in Bethany.
The Lady Panthers took the game in three innings, scoring 15 runs in the bottom of the first and two more in the second. Matana Munday had a double, a single and two RBIs, Kylie Littleton added two singles and three RBIs and Shelby Bummer had a hit and an RBI. Emily Milazzo and Zoe Littleton also had hits in the game for Grundy.
“The girls made all our routine plays needed,” Lady Panthers’ Head Coach Jennifer Belvel said. “Our defense was solid and worked well with each other.”
With the win the Lady Panthers moved to 2-3 on the season. They will play for the consolation title against East Harrison at a later date.
