Rowena Jeanette Loyd, a 76-year-old Brookfield resident, died at 11:55 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014 at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia after a long illness.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014 at the Edinburg IOOF Cemetery in Edinburg. There is no visitation. Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home in Trenton is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Loyd was born on Nov. 25, 1937 in Edinburg, the daughter of Delmar and Marie Fulkerson Sharp. She was married to Harold Loyd on Dec. 15, 1971 in Trenton. She worked at Trenton Trust Bank and was a long-time staff member at Abraham Baldwin College in Tifton, GA, where her husband was president.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Loyd of Brookfield; a brother, Stephen Sharp of Watsonville, CA; a sister, Phyllis Smith of rural Brookfield; two nieces, Billie Harrington of Bucklin and Jennifer Sharp Walden of Los Angeles, CA; a nephew, Brant Smith of rural Brookfield; three great nieces; and one great nephew.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Linn County Humane Society at PO Box 66, Brookfield, MO 64628 or they can be left at the funeral home.
