Volleyballers Take First Set, But Fall To Trojans

The Trenton High School volleyball team was on the road for the first time in the 2014 season, traveling south to Carrollton for a match with the Lady Trojans on Thursday. Trenton picked up a win in the first game, topping Carrollton 25-21, but fell 25-18 in the second and 25-13 in the third to drop the match.
Lakisha Hughs had a big night for the Lady Bulldogs, tallying 10 kills to go with three aces and a block. Alex Ewald added seven assists and 13 digs, both team highs, and Tomi Delp tallied three aces. Trenton also got a block from Sarah Walker.
With the loss, Trenton dropped to 1-4 on the season.
Trenton will get an opportunity to rebound on Monday as the Lady Bulldogs travel to Hamilton for a match with the Lady Hornets. The match is the first of a home and home series between the schools. Hamilton will visit Trenton on Sept. 16.
