The Trenton Lady Bulldogs high school volleyball team burst into the win column after a slow start to the season. Trenton handed Plattsburg a 25-21, 25-20 loss Tuesday night.
The Lady Bulldogs victory came after an 0-3 start to the season and was not without its share of stars. The usual suspects, Lakisha Hughs and Alex Ewald, performed at a high level again as Hughs tallied eight kills and three aces and Ewald added nine assists and 13 digs. Sarah Walker gave Trenton six kills and freshman Maddie Searcy had a 72 percent kill percentage with five kills on the night. Lyric Nolan totaled three aces and Tomi Delp gave the Lady Bulldogs seven assists.
With the win, Trenton improved to 1-3 on the season. The Lady Bulldogs will look to keep the momentum rolling on Thursday as they hit the road for the first time this season. Trenton travels to Carrollton to take on the Lady Trojans at 7 p.m.
