Prosecutor Collects Restitution

Grundy County Prosecuting Attorney Cristine Stallings has announced that almost $7,000 in restitution has been collected by her office for the month of July.
The restitution includes bad check collection, burglary and stealing restitution and restitution for property damage. The prosector’s office reminds merchants and citizens that all insufficient funds checks or checks written on a closed account should be brought to the prosecutor’s office, which collects on these types of checks at no charge to the victim. The office also collects merchant’s fee on all bad checks collected in the amount of $20 per check, which is paid to the victim when collected.
