J. Noel Scott, a 96-year-old resident of Kearney, died on Monday, Aug. 25, 2014.
Mr. Scott was born on April 1, 1918, the son of Charles and Norma Broyles Scott. Following high school, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. He married in October 1947 to Dorothy Elick, who preceded Noel in death in April 1997. He later married Gwendean Hill Rhea, who survives of the home.
He is also survived by his children and spouses, Noel E. and Charlene Scott and Marilyn K. and Michael Nickelson; a step-daughter and her husband, Marquetta and Earl Riggs; a grandson, Jason Hughes and his wife, Melissa, and their daughter Amelia; and a step-granddaughter, Andrea Hamilton and her husband, Brad, and their children, Spencer, Tyler, Austin and Melia.
Burial will be in the Brackett Cemetery near Newtown.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Park Lawn Northland Chapel.
