The Laredo City Council set its tax levy hearing during a meeting on Monday night at city hall.
City Clerk Ashley Boren said the levy hearing will be held at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20 at city hall. The council is proposing a levy of $.9797 on the $100 assessed valuation. Of that total, $.6859 would be for the general revenue fund and $.2938 would be for the street fund. In the only other action taken by the council, approval was given to purchase three loads of rock for the city streets.
The next meeting of the council is 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 16.
