While in scouts, Blake earned 37 merit badges and Ad Altare Dei, the highest award of the God and Country program. He held leadership positions of patrol leader, senior patrol leader and junior assistant scoutmaster. He is a runner in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say with the tribal name of Strikes At Night. His Eagle project was the construction of a barbecue grill at the shelter house on the Boy and Girl Scout campground.
Blake is a 2014 graduate of Trenton High School where he had been a member of FFA. He attended Grand River Technical School two years and received an Automotive Service of Excellence Certificate.
Blake will report for duty with the United States Marine Corp on Aug. 18. He is the son of Kathleen Blake and Thomas Blake, both of Trenton.
