Kenneth Doyle “Ken” O’Dell, a 60-year-old former resident of Princeton, died on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at his home in Memphis, MO.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. today (Monday, July 28, 2014) at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Princeton with Pastor Sheila Hogue officiating. Burial was in the Goshen Cemetery, west of Princeton.
Mr. O’Dell was born in McAlester, OK on July 31, 1953, the son of Omer F. and Madie Lois Moody O’Dell. He was raised in Oklahoma, where he attended school. He worked most of his life in the pig production industry, including Premium Standard Farms (now known as Murphy-Brown of Missouri, LLC.) in Princeton for several years.
He was a member of the Princeton United Methodist Church.
He was married on Dec. 7, 2003 to Teresa Ann “Terri” Remus, who survives of their home in Memphis.
He is also survived by three sons, Kenneth O’Dell, Jr. and his companion, Kristine of Flint, MI, Shaun O’Dell and his wife, Colleen of Moberly and Seth Day and his wife, Billie of Princeton; a daughter, Megan Day of Lucas, IA; three granddaughters, Morgan, Alexis, and Lillian O’Dell; two grandsons, Garrett O’Dell and Justin Day; and a new grandson due at any minute; two sisters, Betty O’Dell, of the State of New Mexico, and Patsy Sweetin and her husband, Jack of Pittsburgh, OK; a brother, Benny O’Dell of Kiowa, OK; two sisters-in-law, Lillian O’Dell of Kiowa and Genevieve Shatto of Whitesboro, OK; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and five brothers, Tommy, Freddy, Wayne, Bobby and Billy “Leon” O’Dell.
The family requests memorial contributions to the Princeton United Methodist Church. Contributions may be mailed to the funeral home at PO Box 316, Princeton, MO 64673.
