Maureen Funk, an instructor in the Princeton R-5 School District, has been nominated as a new member of the North Central Missouri College Foundation Board of Directors.
She will fill an unexpired two-year term on the board, which consists of 24 members from various communities in north central Missouri. It is expected that she and Gary Jordan, chief executive officer at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton, will both formally join the board at its August meeting.
Mrs. Funk has worked with accelerated learners and gifted students for nearly twenty years in the Princeton and Macon school districts. She has also been an elementary school principal and a math, science, and home economics instructor. She earned a master’s degree from University of Missouri – St. Louis, a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University, and an associate’s degree from Muscatine Community College, also in Iowa.
“I am looking forward to serving on the NCMC Foundation Board to help support the college’s growth into the future,” Mrs. Funk said. “It is obvious how important North Central Missouri College is to this region.”
“Maureen has an extensive background in teaching, community involvement, and leadership activities,” said Teresa Cross, director of the NCMC Foundation. “And since she attended a community college herself, she will be able to demonstrate her commitment to the two-year college mission on our Board by assisting us in furthering the education of the citizens in north central Missouri.”
