Johnnie C. Grime, a 76-year-old resident of Blue Springs, died on Monday, July 21, 2014 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the United Methodist Church at Browning with Rev. Sue Lambert officiating. Burial will be in the Locust Valley Cemetery, west of Browning.
A visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until service time on Thursday at the church.
Mr. Grime was born on Nov. 24, 1938 in Meadville, the son of Byron L. and Irene Thomas Grime. He was a 1956 graduate of Meadville High School. He moved to Browning in 1964 and was a salesman for Hooker Chevrolet, later becoming a dealer. He went to work at Briggs-Cupp Chevrolet in Marceline in 1991 until his retirement. He was a past mayor and board member for the city of Browning and was a member of the United Methodist Church.
He was married in June 1959 to Linda Hooker.
He is survived by his daughter, Kristen, and two grandchildren, Riley and Bailey of Blue Springs; a brother, Donald of Omaha, NE; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jon M.; and grandson, Jon M.; and a sister, Betty Jean.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Browning United Methodist Church or Compassionate Care Hospice.
