Five Seek Fair NCM Queen Title
Shelby Lowrey of Laredo, Blaine Todd of Helena, Shania Anderson of Trenton, Kaitlin Tait of Maysville and Emily Torrey of Humphreys will compete in the areas of interview, talent and evening gown. This will take place on Sunday afternoon, July 27 in the Hoover Theater. The talent and evening gown competition will be open to the public at 5 p.m. The private interview will take place prior to the public portion of the contest.
The winner will be announced at 7 p.m. on Tuesday during a program in the courtyard area of the Rock Barn. This is a change of location from last year. The new Miss NCM Fair will receive a $350 scholarship to North Central Missouri College or a $300 scholarship to the school of their choice, along with a tiara, sash, a bouquet of flowers and their entree fee paid to compete in the 2015 Missouri State Fair Queen Contest in Sedalia next August.
The first and second runners-up will receive a $100 scholarship to the school of their choice and a bouquet of flowers.
Miss Lowrey is a graduate of Trenton High School and attends North Central Missouri College, where she is majoring in agriculture business. After graduation from NCMC, she plans to transfer to Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville to finish her agriculture business degree, then stay in the area to continue farming with her family and expand her cow/calf herd. She is a member of the Trenton FFA.
Miss Todd is a graduate of Savannah High School and will be entering the University of Missouri-Columbia this fall to major in animal science. She is a member of the Savannah FFA chapter.
Miss Anderson is a graduate of Trenton High School and attends NCMC, where she is majoring in agriculture business. Following graduation in May 2015, she plans to work at a rodeo stock contracting company in Texas while trick riding and performing at rodeos and fair events. She eventually would like to own her own pro rodeo stock contracting business. She is a member of the Trenton FFA.
Miss Tait is a senior at Maysville High School and plans to attend college near home to earn a degree in art. She would eventually like to become a visual effects makeup artist. She is a member of the Maysville FFA.
Miss Torrey attends Grundy R-5 High School in Galt and, following graduation, plans to attend NCMC and major in agriculture business. She then plans to transfer to either Northwestern or Ozark Christian College to complete her degree. She is a member of the Grundy R-5 FFA chapter to follow.
