Samuel A. Johnson, a 66-year-old resident of Cameron, died on Monday morning July 14, 2014 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the Modena Baptist Church in Modena. Burial will be in the Goshen Cemetery, west of Princeton.
A family visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2014 at Slater Funeral Home in Trenton.
Mr. Johnson was born on Feb. 28, 1948 in Princeton, the son of James Clifton “JC” and Fredericka “Freddie” Jane Bursey Johnson. He graduated from Princeton High School and was retired from the U.S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam Era and Gulf War.
He was a member of Modena Baptist Church in Modena.
His survivors include one daughter, Jessica Johnson of Chillicothe; two sons, Joshua Johnson and his wife, Sherri of Cameron and Jeremy Johnson and his wife, Brandy of Salem; two sisters, Sarah Dannar and her husband, Larry of Trenton and Margaret McQueen and her husband, Dennis of Purdin; one brother, Stanley Johnson and his wife, Pamela of Princeton; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Peggy Grindstaff.
