The Laredo R-7 Board of Education voted to combine two class levels and set the date for its tax hearing during a meeting held Monday.
According to Superintendent Phil Fox, the board voted, following an executive session to discuss personnel, to combine the first and second grades for the 2014-2015 school year and to hire a full-time paraprofessional for that classroom.
Board members also approved the student and faculty handbooks for the 2014-2015 school year and approved MSBA policy updates. The board reviewed the budget and the superintendent evaluation procedure, approved the Annual Secretary of the Board Report and walked through the building, receiving an update on maintenance projects. It was reported that bus repairs should be done by Aug. 1. Fox told the board that the on-site financial audit for 2013-2014 was be conducted on July 7 and 9. The board/staff picnic is scheduled for 6 p.m., Aug. 22 at Larry and Mona Loyd’s lake.
The board scheduled the tax rate hearing for 6 p.m., Aug. 11, with the regular meeting to follow at 6:30 p.m.
