Funeral services for Imogene Brassfield will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton. Burial to follow at Honey Creek Cemetery.
A family visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Brassfield, a 94-year-old resident of Trenton, died at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, July 14, 2014 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.
She was born on Oct. 18, 1919 in Grundy County, the daughter of Harry and Clara Hostettler Crawford. She attended Trenton High School and graduated from Chillicothe Business College. She was married to Dwight Brassfield on Aug. 24, 1940 in Trenton by Rev. Todd.
Imogene was an excellent cook and famous for her cherry pies. She loved cats and dogs and the life she lived on the farm. She was known by her family as a true shoe connoisseur.
Survivors include her daughter, Sondra Lisle of Trenton; a sister, Hortense Urton of Trenton; granddaughters, Denise Guile, Dana Ferguson and Teresa Miller and her husband, Dave all of Trenton; great-grandchildren, Myles Berry of Kansas City, Samantha and Bruce Fair of Trenton, Kyle and Jordan Miller of Grimes, IA and Payton and Corbyn Guile of Trenton.
Imogene was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and a son, Larry Wayne Brassfield.
