Events to assist with veterans with benefits and other military-related activities will be held in Trenton during July.
A veteran’s service officer will be present at Hy-Vee from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, July 7 and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, July 18 at the VFW Hall to help with veterans paperwork. A veteran’s center counselor will be at the VFW Hall in Trenton from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, July 11 to provide free, confidential help to veterans and family members of active military personnel as well as veterans who may need counseling.
A free shuttle is available, when needed, to transport veterans to VA appointments. To schedule a ride, persons should call 816-922-2449.
A veterans service officer is also located in Trenton from Monday, through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Persons needing to visit with the officer are asked to call 359-2078.
