Hannah Persell of Trenton came home with six medals and a ribbon captured during the 4-H National Shooting Sports Invitational held June 24-29 in Grand Island, NE. Miss Persell was a member of the Missouri 4-H national squad that had nine teams of four individuals who qualified to compete in nine separate disciplines. Miss Persell competed in the hunting and outdoor skills discipline, where participants are tested on their knowledge of wildlife identification, wildlife management, hunter decision making, outdoor safety, topographic map use and first aid as well as scored on their skills with a .22 rifle, shotgun, archery and compass. Miss Persell placed second individually in the hunting and outdoors skills discipline and first place individually in the wildlife identification and wildlife management portion of the competition. In addition, the Missouri Hunting and Outdoor Skills team placed first overall in that discipline, with the team receiving first place for two days of competition and third place for one day of competition. Miss Persell is the daughter of Shane and Anna Persell of Trenton and the granddaughter of Larry and Dianna Persell of Spickard and Ora Paul Sr. and Kathleen Acree of Gallatin.
