Fourth Of July In Trenton

A variety of activities are planned this weekend as Trenton celebrates the Fourth of July holiday.
Trenton will hold its events on Friday, kicking off with a fly-in and breakfast at the Trenton Municipal Airport, beginning at 7 a.m. Pilots from throughout the area have been invited to fly into the airport for a free breakfast being served from 7 to 10:30. The breakfast, which includes pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee, will also be available to the public at a cost of $4 per plate and is a fundraiser for Preceptor Nu chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. The public will be able to view the airplanes that fly into the airport as well as other displays. The fly-in is sponsored by the city of Trenton and the Airport Advisory Board.
The Major Dale Stepp American Legion Post No. 31 will host activities at Eastside Park, beginning with a car, truck and motorcycle show. Registration will be from 7 to 8:30 a.m., with the public being able to view the entries between 8:30 a.m. and noon. Best of show trophies will be awarded in various categories and dash plaques will be awarded to the first 50 entries. There is a $20 registration fee.
A co-ed mud volleyball tournament is scheduled at 4 p.m., with registration taking place from 3 to 4 p.m. Teams can take part for a $30 entry fee. Registration forms are available at the Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce office, Chumbley’s and KTTN radio. The evening will conclude with fireworks at dusk, sponsored by the Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce and provided through the generous donations of local and area businesses, organizations and residents. The fireworks will be shot off from the Rock Barn area.
