Dorothy Moulton, an 89-year-old former of Ankeny, IA resident, died on Wednesday, June 25, 2014. She had been residing the past few months at the home of a daughter, Cindy Jennings of Trenton.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Memorial Services of Iowa in Ankeny with burial to follow at Ankeny Memorial Gardens.
A visitation will be held prior to the services at the funeral home, from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday.
Mrs. Moulton was born on April 25, 1925 in Coatsville, the daughter of Elmer and Pearl McKinney Childs. She married Robert D. Moulton on Dec. 24, 1944 in Moulton, IA.
She is remembered for her talents of hospitality and her fried chicken and pies. She enjoyed reading about angels and had made a personal commitment to Jesus as her Lord.
She is survived by two sons, Danny (Julie) Moulton of Ankeny, Iowa and Stephen Moulton of Urbandale, IA; a daughter, Cindy (Dave) Jennings of Trenton; four sisters, Olive Schultz of Ankeny, Irene Herteen of Blakesburg, IA, twin sister Doris Smith of Ankeny and Jeanette Smith of Ankeny; a brother, Ronald Childs of Arlington, TX; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Stanley Moulton; and two brothers, Ralph and Robert Childs.
