Area School Boards OK Budgets

Two area boards of education held meetings on Thursday night to close out the current fiscal year and approve budgets while two other boards will hold meetings on Monday night.
Grundy R-5
The Grundy R-5 Board of Education held a special meeting on Thursday night, approving a new budget and amending the current budget to close out the current fiscal year.
According to information provided by Superintendent Rob Deaver, the board is approving a balanced budget that shows revenues exceeding expenditures by $45. Revenues are anticipated for next year at $2,492,046 while expenditures are listed at $2,492,001.
Approval was given to 2013-14 budget amendments to show actual revenues and expenditures for the year.
The next regularly scheduled board meeting will be on Thursday, July 10.
Princeton R-5
The 2013-2014 budget was amended to show actual revenues and expenses during the Princeton R-5 Board of Education meeting.
Information provided by Superintendent Terry Mayfield shows actual revenues for the fiscal year that ends on June 30 to be $4,807,424.37 while expenditures were listed at $4,670,229.26. This resulted in a surplus fund balance for the year of $137,195.11.
As part of that process, the board also approved final bills for the year as well as a transfer of $115,490.17 from the general fund to the capital fund.
The board agreed to amend the contract for the superintendent to read that any pay increase for the superintendent will be determined annually by the board of education.
An executive session for personnel was held with no announcement made.
The next regular board meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Monday, July 14 in the high school library.
Laredo R-7
The Laredo R-7 Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday at the school to close out the current fiscal year.
Items on the announced agenda include approval of final bills, amending the 2013-14 budget and approval of the 2014-15 budget.
Spickard R-2
The Spickard R-2 Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday at the school.
Items on the announced agenda include approval of a maintenance plan, public comment and an executive session for personnel and student matters.
