Gooseberry Festival Is June 20-22

The annual Gooseberry Festival is scheduled to take place June 20-22 in Trenton.
Several activities are scheduled for the weekend, beginning on Friday night with an IAMO-sanctioned truck and tractor pull and Bike Night and ending with soccer games and a soccer goal shoot-off on Sunday. In between will be the annual 5K-10K run/walk, an art show, gooseberry cooking contest, tool sharpening, ATV races, a horseshoe pitching contest, the Bud Cox Memorial Antique Tractor and Machinery Show, events at the North Missouri Saddle Club and a barbecue at Wesley United Methodist Church. There will also be craft and food vendors at the Rock Barn, including the Dockery Chapel Church bake sale.
The Grundy County Museum will also be open from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and gooseberry ice cream will be served on Sunday.
The weekend is coordinated by Mayor Dr. Nick McHargue and family, with assistance from several individuals in the community.
