Membership rates and options at the Ketcham Community Center are changing following action taken by the North Central Missouri College Board of Trustees on Thursday evening.
The current rates have been in effect since 2009 and rising costs, maintenance and repairs were cited as the reason for the increase. It was noted that the new prices are still considered to be reasonable and competitive with other similar facilities in the area.
One of the major changes is the elimination of the quarterly pass in favor of an optional 90-day pass. Trustees were told that 25 percent of members are not paying all four quarters of the annual membership when billed quarterly and getting the discounted annual rate. Adding the 90-day pass, which is a 90 consecutive day pass from the date of purchase, would either force members to buy the annual pass at the discounted rate in one payment or they can pay a little extra for purchasing three 90-day passes.
The new rates, with the older rates listed in parentheses, include:
Single (age 14 to 64) - 30 day pass, $40 ($30); 90 day pass, $75; annual pass $220 ($200).
Family pass for up to four members – 30 day pass $65 ($40), 90 day pass $125; annual pass $360 ($325).
Family of 5 (a new category) – 30 day pass, $80; 90 day pass, $150; annual pass, $400.
Senior (over 65) single – annual pass, $180 ($160).
Senior couple – annual pass, $270 ($240).
Day passes are $5, an increase of $1.
Under the new policy, all passes, including annual memberships, must be paid in full, with no billing to be done by the KCC.
Employees are provided free memberships and they can purchase a family membership for $120.
The new rates and options will go into effect on July 1.
