Local Woman Earns Honor

May 13, 2014 | College News, Headline News

Aubrey Utley of Trenton was among five students from Central Methodist University in Fayette completing the CMU honors program.
Miss Utley, a biology major, was honored for her achievement along with her fellow students during special ceremonies on Saturday. The program is designed to empower students by offering alternative educational opportunities.
In order to graduate with honors, a student must maintain a grade point average of 3.5 and complete 12 hours of honors course work over a minimum of two semesters. Three of those hours must be the honors senior thesis, publically defended before a committee that includes the academic dean, the president and the director of the honors program. Miss Utley’s thesis was “Is Personalized Medicine the Next Step in Modern Medicine?”
Miss Utley is the daughter of John and Tracy Utley of Trenton.
