Electric customers residing within the nine county core service area of Green Hills Community Action Agency may be able to see a slight reprieve from higher utility bills as things warm up across Missouri in the coming months.
The agency’s Summer Energy Crisis Intervention Program is slated to begin on Monday, June 2. Funding is limited, and can only be accessed by clients in the event of an electric shutoff emergency.
Persons approved for winter assistance between Oct. 1, 2013 and March 31 of this year are pre-eligible for these summer funds. Persons who did not apply and/or receive help with utilities, or have moved since the recent winter EA season will be required to complete a new application with supporting documentation before help can be made available. Persons who do not remember if the agency assisted them with a bill can call the CAA office at 1-855-290-8544.
Summer ECIP applications will not be accepted until June 2. Applications will be made available to the public via mail, e-mail, fax, or online at ghcaa.org. Persons do not need to schedule appointments or visit the Trenton office to begin this process; they can call the above number.
