Trenton Cruises Past Wentworth, Wins 9-0

The Trenton High School boys tennis team had no trouble picking up a victory on Tuesday, sweeping Wentworth Military Academy 9-0 on the road in Lexington.
Trenton got 8-0 shutout wins by Isaiah Swann and Chanse Houghton in singles play and Alex Davis scored an 8-2 singles win. Other singles wins came from Wilson Utley, who won 8-3; Jacob Marlay, who won 8-4; and Leighton Fletchall, who won 8-3.
In doubles play, Trenton continued to dominate the dual. Swann and Davis won 8-1, Utley and Houghton won 8-2 and Gannon Albrecht and Tyler Lynch won 8-2.
With the dual win, Trenton improved to 4-6 on the season.
Trenton’s JV had a good day as well as the group won all four matches against Wentworth. Jacob Davis picked up a 6-0 singles win, Jacob Hall won a singles match 6-1 and Brayden Herring won in singles play as well, 7-6. The only JV doubles match of the day saw Bryce Whitney and Gavin Albrecht pick up a 6-1 win.
Trenton’s tennis teams will return to the court on Thursday as the Bulldogs travel to Cameron to take on the Dragons. First serves for the dual are set for 4 p.m.
