Linda M. Anders, a 56-year-old resident of Jefferson City, died Thursday, May 1, 2014, at her home, with her family by her side, after a courageous 23-year battle with breast cancer. She was a former Trenton resident.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home in Jefferson City with Deacon Ed Stroesser officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
A family visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 5, 2014, at the funeral home.
She was born on Oct. 31, 1957, in Jefferson City, the daughter of the late C. Lloyd and Shirley Starke Meyer. She was a graduate of Helias High School. She was married in Jefferson City on Nov. 15, 1980 to Paul R. Anders, who survives at their home.
Mrs. Anders owned and operated her own crafts and gift stores in Jamesport and Trenton. She enjoyed crafts, shopping, and watching St. Louis Cardinal baseball. Most of all, she loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Along with her husband, Paul, she is survived by a son Bryan Anders and his fiancee, Andrea Enciso of Anchorage, AK; three brothers: Greg Meyer of Jefferson City, Tom Meyer and his wife, Tammy of Jefferson City and Scott Meyer and his wife, Cheryl of St. Joseph; four sisters, Debbie Hilke and her husband, Don of Jefferson City, Teresa Mackay and her husband, Roger of Holts Summit, Barb Gordon and her husband, Greg of Holts Summit and Carol Meyer of Jefferson City; 13 nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a nephew: Aaron Meyer.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Mary’s Hospice or The Community Breast Care Project.
