Princeton Council OKs Budget

The Princeton City Council has approved its 2014-15 budget, which projects a slight deficit.
The budget, which goes into effect on May 1, shows anticipated revenues of $1,152,737.65 and projected expenditures of $1,193,423.27. The budget does include a 4 percent wage increase for employees.
City Clerk Keri Stamper said the city will end the current budget with a deficit, however, sales tax interest, airport rental and $54,000 in the budget for replacement of a garbage truck, which was not done as the city decided to contract its trash hauling services, will be enough take care of the deficit anticipated for this year and leave a surplus of around $19,000.
The next meeting of the Princeton City Council is scheduled for Monday, May 5.
