Trenton Track Teams Perform Well At Meet In Brookfield

The Trenton High School track and field teams had solid days at Brookfield in a small meet on Tuesday. The Trenton boys placed first out of five teams, while the Lady Bulldogs placed runner-up to host school Brookfield.
Milan, Norborne and Northwestern were also in action.
Bulldogs
The Trenton boys won 10 events, including all four relays. Thomas Mack, Trenton Crawford, Charlie Hoffman and Wynne DeVorss combined for a first-place effort in the 4×800-meter relay and Dakota Anderson, Jonathan Lamp, Travis Leeper and Clinton Brenner brought home first in the 4×100-meter relay. Anderson, Lamp and Brenner combined with Dakota Schultz to win the 4×200-meter relay and Dalton Ellis, Lamp, Trey Shields and Gavin Griffin closed the meet by winning the 4×400-meter relay.
Hoffman captured gold in the 800- 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs and the Bulldogs ran one-two in all three events. Crawford finished right behind Hoffman in the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs and DeVorss was runner-up in the 800. In the 1,600-meter run, Trenton grabbed third and fourth as well as Mack came across the line third and Jose Barron placed fourth.
Dalton Ellis won gold in the 300-meter hurdles with Logan Trickel finishing fourth in the event and Schultz won the high jump, with Brenner placing fourth. Shields took first in the 400-meter dash, Griffin finishing third and Brenner took fourth place.
Other placewinners for the Bulldogs included Anderson, second in the 100-meter dash; Schultz, second in the triple jump and second in the pole vault; Jacob Hamilton, second in the 110-meter hurdles; Lamp, second in the 200-meter dash; Dalton Ellis, third in the 110-meter hurdles; Travis Leeper, third in the long jump and fourth in the triple jump; DeVorss, third in the pole vault; Terrin Ellis, third in the shot put; Jeremiah Chipps, third in the discus; Colton Neff, fourth in the long jump; Trickel, fourth in the 110-meter hurdles; Mack, third in the 800-meter run; Barron, fifth in the long jump; Connor Cotton, fifth in the discus; and Denver Bennett, fifth in the 400-meter dash.
Lady Bulldogs
The Trenton girls won seven gold medals at the meet with Tenna Roberts collecting three of them. Roberts won the 200- and 400-meter dashes and combined with Lana Raymo, Alexis Fender and Ayron Osborn to win the 4×200-meter relay.
Osborn also won gold in the triple jump while Fender placed first in the 100-meter dash. Whitley Richman won the 300-meter hurdles and Ally Ockenfels won the shot put. Richman also captured second place in the 100-meter hurdles and was fourth in the long jump. Osborn was runner-up in the 800-meter run and Fender finished third in the 100-meter hurdles.
Lexi Tolson placed second in the 3,200-meter run and was third in the 1,600-meter run. Abby Miller finished fourth in the 1,600-meter run, Karli Crawford was fourth in the 3,200-meter run and Raymo and Maggie McNabb placed fifth in the 100-meter dash and shot put respectively.
Trenton’s 4×400-meter relay team of Roberts, Richman, Raymo and Osborn placed second as did the 4×800-meter relay team of Crawford, Tolson, Miller and Katerina Black. The 4×100-meter relay team of Raymo, Black, Crawford and Jaylen Neff finished third.
Trenton’s track and field teams will return to action on Thursday, hosting the Trenton Relays at C.F. Russell Stadium. Events are scheduled to begin at the meet at 4 p.m.
