North Central Missouri College of Trenton is offering welding skills training tuition-free for individuals who qualify. A federal grant will offset the tuition cost for eligible participants.
Accelerated training classes in welding will begin June 10 and last eight weeks. They will be taught at the Grand River Technical School, which also serves as NCMC’s outreach location in Chillicothe. The classes are designed to lead to industry-based credentials as well as an eventual college certificate. Tuition is free for those who qualify, however, students will be responsible for any books, student fees, lab fees or other required supplies or student-related costs.
An informational meeting about this training will be held at GRTS on Tuesday, May 6 on a come-and-go basis from 4 to 7 p.m. Pre-registration for the meeting is not required. Anyone interested in improving career opportunities or in gaining new skills in industry are encouraged to attend.
