Grundy County 4-H members participated in the annual Contest Day activities on Friday at the First Christian Church fellowship hall.
There were 21 individuals taking part in the event, with several entries qualifying for state or Interstate competition later in the year. All entries received a blue ribbon.
Qualifying for state competition were Emily Torrey in prepared speaking; Riley Raymo, Elle Neal and Latorrie Johnson, extemporaneous speaking, age 11 to 13; Tyler Kidd and Wyatt Neal, extemporaneous speaking, age 14-15; Tegan Kelsall, Tyler Kidd, Payden Gibson, Logan Foster, Kidridge Griffin, Rebecca Urich, Latorrie Johnson and Riley Raymo, general demonstration; Latorrie Johnson, Levi Johnson, Haley Kidd and Rebecca Urich, working demonstration; and Rebecca Urich and Haley Kidd, fashion revue.
Interstate qualifiers were Logan Foster and Rebecca Urich, general demonstration; and Haley Kidd and Elle Neal, working demonstration.
Other demonstration participants include Claire Myers, Grace Myers and Gavin Kelsall, general demonstrations; Anna Hines, Morgan Foster and Hannah Bowe, working demonstrations.
Best of Show winners in the photo contest were Tegan Kelsall, people; Tyler Kidd, animal; and Anna Hines, landscape and collections. Other blue ribbon winners were Haley Kidd and Gavin Kelsall, people; Tegan Kelsall, Haley Kidd and Gavin Kelsall, animal; and Haley Kidd, landscape.
In the Share the Fun competition, blue ribbon winners were Claire Myers, flute solo; Robert Urich, piano solo; Rebecca Urich, piano solo; and Morgan Foster, poem recitation.
Personal appearance blue ribbon winners were Tyler Kidd, Haley Kidd, Riley Raymo, Wyatt Neal, Levi Johnson, Latorrie Johnson, Kidridge Griffin, Tegan Kelsall, Anna Hines, Gavin Kelsall, Robert Urich, Morgan Foster, Logan Foster, Elle Neal, Grace Myers, Claire Myers, Rebecca Urich and Payden Gibson.
