Richard L. “Dick” Davis, an 84-year-old resident of Chillicothe, died on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at Daviess County Nursing and Rehab in Gallatin.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 7, 2014 at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Resthaven Memorial Gardens at Chillicothe.
A family visitation will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home, where general visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, 2014.
Mr. Davis was born on Dec. 5, 1929 in Wheeling, the son of Clarence and Ruth Lowe Davis. He was a 1947 graduate Wheeling High School in Wheeling. He was married in Miami, OK on Feb. 27, 1977 to Colene Stamper, who survives of the home. He worked as a farmer all of his life. He enjoyed row crop farming and cattle farming. He was a member of the Chillicothe Friendship Lodge #89 AF&AM.
Survivors include his wife, Colene of the home; one daughter, Denise Stottlemyre of Chillicothe; nine grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; three step-sons, Jim Gibson and his wife, Jeanie of Trenton, Terry Gibson and his wife Mary, of Spickard and Dale Gibson and his wife, Edna of Fouke, AR; one step-daughter, Debbie Markway and her husband, Albert of Clinton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Debbie Davis; one sister, Alice Albertson; and one brother, Dr. Jack Davis.
