Mercer’s Bailey Owens Named MBCA All-State

Mercer freshman Bailey Owens was named to the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association’s All-State Team this week. Owens was the only freshman represented on the 21-player team.
During her freshman year, Owens led Mercer with 18.1 points per game, scoring 526 total points. She knocked down 80 three-pointers over the course of the season and averaged 4.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. She also had a team high 36 blocked shots.
Behind Owens, Mercer ran a 27-2 record, advancing to the state quarterfinals before being eliminated. The Lady Cardinals clinched their fifth-straight HDC regular season and HDC Tournament championships.
Owens was also an All-HDC Conference, MSSA All-Northwest District and MBCA All-District selection.
