Aubrey Utley, a 2010 graduate of Trenton High School and current pitcher for the Central Methodist University softball team, received the Heart Of America Athletic Conference’s Pitcher of the Week award this week. The honor marked the third time this season Utley has received the award and the ninth time in her career at CMU.
Utley currently boasts a 10-0 record on the season and owns an earned run average of 0.93. Behind Utley’s dominance in the circle, CMU is off to a 17-4 start, the best start to a season in school history.
Utley owns a 76-16 record all time at CMU and was the HAAC Pitcher of the Year in 2011. She has won 20 or more games in a season at CMU twice and is a former NAIA All-American.
At Trenton, Utley set the standard for pitching excellence, recording 843 career strikeouts, far and away the school record. During her senior season she lifted Trenton to a state runner-up finish, the highest finish in school history. Utley was a three-time all-state selection while with the Lady Bulldogs.
Utley is the daughter of John and Tracy Utley of Trenton.
