Ratliff’s Have Big Year In 2013
Trever, Rillie and Ron Ratliff enjoyed a successful year in 2013. Trever, a junior at Trenton High School, brought home five buckles from the MOKAN Rodeo Circuit and the National High School Rodeo. He was the finals tie-down champion, reserved all-around, reserved tie-down for the year and was third in Chute Doggin’ from MOKAN and the third-place steer wrestler at the NHSR. Rillie, a sixth grader at Trenton, brought home 10 ribbons from the Fall Harvest Festival in Columbia, including three firsts, two thirds and a fourth. She competes in barrels, poles, goat tying and other gymkhana events. Ron, Trever and Rillie’s grandfather, won the Kansas State Cowboy Poetry Championship in the summer and also performed at the Echoes of the Trail poetry gathering in Fort Scott, KS. Trever and Rillie are the children of Shannon and Charla Ratliff and Ron is the husband of Iva Gail Ratliff and pastor at 10th Street Baptist Church and the Circle 3 Tree Cowboy Church of rural Jamesport.
