Saint Luke’s Seeks Hospice Volunteers

Feb 21, 2014 | Announcements

Saint Luke’s Home Care and Hospice is currently looking for new volunteers to serve in homes and nursing homes in the Trenton and Chillicothe areas as well as the surrounding communities.
A volunteer training session will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Tuesday, Feb. 25.
As part of the faith-based Saint Luke’s Health System, Saint Luke’s Home Care and Hospice provides support and care for persons in the last phases of incurable disease, ensuring a life of quality in their final days, and assisting family members through the transition.
“Our entire team of professionals and volunteers is dedicated to helping patients and families live as fully as possible,” Sherry Stirling, volunteer coordinator, said. “We want to be sure that each patient’s final journey is filled with a rich sense of dignity, and we are looking for volunteers who share this deep sense of compassionate care.”
Several training sessions will be offered throughout the year. The first one will be at the Saint Luke’s Hospice Chillicothe office, located at 893 Fairway, on Tuesday, Feb. 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lunch will be provided. Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer or with questions may contact Ms. Stirling at 660-646-2199 or at [email protected].
