Two residents of Princeton were injured in a one-vehicle accident on Saturday night on Highway 136, 4.5 miles east of Bethany.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the driver of the vehicle, 17-year-old Joseph Herrity and a passenger, 16-year-old Madison Lewis, were taken by ambulance to the Harrison County Community Hospital in Bethany for treatment of injuries. The patrol said Herrity’s car was eastbound on Highway 136 when it went off the south side of the road. The driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to go off the north side of the road and overturn two and one-half times, coming to rest on its top.
Herrity received minor injuries while Miss Lewis’ injuries were listed as moderate. Neither one was wearing a seat belt. The car was demolished.
The accident was investigated by Trooper Benjamin Hilliard, assisted by Cpl. Howard B. Cowan and the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department.
