Wayne B. Eaton, an 85-year-old resident of Galt died on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 5, 2014 at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014 at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton with Rev. Mark Peck officiating. A family visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014 at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.
Mr. Eaton was born on June 16, 1928 in Trenton, the son of Benjamin Franklin and Ada Webb Eaton. He attended Laredo Schools. He was a farmer and also operated Eaton Electric.
He was married on May 19, 1948 at Laredo to to Lillian J. Vandevender, who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Kristie Fox and her husband, Phil of Laredo; two sons, Terry Eaton of Galt and Kelly Eaton and his wife, Stephanie of Trenton; seven grandchildren, Josh Eaton and his wife, Jill, Loren, Mariah and Ada Fox, and Bailey, Brandi and Grace Eaton; and two great-grandchildren, Kinslie Eaton and Cooper Eaton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Earl Eaton.
Memorials may be made to either the Laredo R-7 School District or the Laredo Fire and Ambulance Department. They may be left at the funeral home.
