Madeline Neill, an NCMC student from Shelbyville, is the recipient of the first Vern E. Hurt Agriculture Scholarship.
This new scholarship was established by the Hoffman Family in memory of Mr. Hurt, a graduate of Trenton High School, Trenton Junior College and the University of Missouri. He had a 40-year career with the National Park Service. The Hurt Scholarship will be awarded annually to a sophomore pursuing a degree related to agriculture and natural resources at North Central Missouri College in Trenton.
“Scholarships are a great way to remember and honor those individuals who’ve made a positive impact on your life,” Foundation Director Teresa J. Cross said. “The Vern E. Hurt award will benefit deserving agriculture students and help them achieve their higher education goals.”
